Creative Bulletin n.248

As promised, here’s a sneak peek at the visuals for our new product, holaciao, which brings an entirely different approach to rapid language learning 🔥

A Magic Formula for Creativity. Along with the many compliments I’ve received for The Creative Ambush, some readers have expressed disappointment in not finding a “formula” for achieving creativity within its pages. When I responded, “I don’t believe one exists,” someone countered, “Just because you haven’t found it doesn’t mean it’s not out there.”

That got me thinking 😂 I began to wonder if there might be some practical actions I take—when I write, design, brainstorm—that could be distilled into a reproducible method, something beyond the usual advice of “just sit down and write for two hours a day.”

And what if, instead of staying on a purely practical, mechanical level, I moved to another plane, one where we learn to direct our own energy? (Because ultimately, that’s what creativity is about.) I’m beginning to envision a sort of magic book for creatives.

For example:

“Ritual for Writing a Book. Light a candle and make a pact with the spirit of your book: give it a name and commit to seeing it through to completion. Each day, light the candle and write, even if it’s only for ten minutes—but do it daily. Honor the spirit of your book.”

This is, at its core, what all writers do in their hearts; but expressed this way, it takes on a whole new weight.

🌈 Creative Takeaway: Let’s Follow Our Indignation

I owe many of my projects to my sense of indignation. “It’s impossible that creativity is taught this way!” led me to create intùiti. “There has to be a practical system for structuring a novel!” pushed me to design Fabula. In a way, even that comment about the magic formula stirred something in me, inspiring me to seek an answer.
What sparks your indignation?
I hope it ignites the fire of your next project 🔥

With ❤️,
Matteo
