Creative Bulletin n.161
We got a little tired of telling you that BAD is doing great and that we are working on this and that (you’re probably fed up with it too 😅), we end up repeating ourselves and repetition is the opposite of creativity.
Instead, we thought about telling you about the book in the pic, Fear of Life by Alexander Lowen, the father of a psychoanalytic method called bioenergetics. In short, to solve patients' neuroses Lowen didn’t work on the mind but focused on the body through breathing and vibration exercises. We recommend it: it’s truly enlightening.
What happens when you work on the body? A real revolution. Matteo has tried several of these works focused on the body, from bioenergetics to Osho's dynamic meditations, and after years of trying, something has finally unlocked. Now, as he writes in the morning, he feels that his process is not only thought driven but a roar that moves his entire being, a desire to dance around the house, and the result is not only better, is more alive, more unexpected, more visceral and more creative.
🌈 Takeaway: if we want to be really creative, we're not going to get away with using just our heads
We are used to associating creativity with the head, the mind, but we can't delude ourselves into thinking we're being creative by staring at a screen all the time. Thinking and thinking and thinking as we walk around the room, maybe a little hunched over, hoping that enlightenment will strike us as we take a shower. Even intùiti can’t help you with that. The deepest creativity starts from the belly, it moves the whole body, not just the head. We need to be creative not only at the top, hiding behind abstract concepts that we give birth to while we forget to breathe.
🔥 This could be the groundwork for a new line of Sefirot tools, focused on the body. It really took Matteo several years to get a taste of the potential of this kind of work, and it would be so cool to have a system (a guided path work? An intùiti for the body?) that could teach how to move the most visceral creativity.
What do you guys think? Are you cerebral or visceral?
With ❤️,
Matteo and Andrea
