Creative Bulletin n.231
Something wonderful happened: we created some ads to sell the remaining copies of the first edition of The Creative Ambush, and they sold out at a rate of nearly 100 books a day 😍 (For those who pre-ordered, your copies are arriving in the warehouse soon!)
For an author, seeing the public appreciate what they've produced is an unparalleled joy. It makes you feel less alone; the energy put into creating something comes back multiplied by ten. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who supported the project!
Always give it a try. Honestly, none of us expected the manual to sell well through Facebook and Instagram ads. Based on our experience over the past six years, we were sure books couldn't be sold that way.
Thankfully, we were wrong. The moral? Always try, experiment, test, question yourself, and explore. You never know when the universe might surprise you!
🌈 Creative takeaway: sometimes just being yourself is enough
We often try to do "what works." We see a successful product and feel tempted to emulate it, or we alter our project or idea based on others who have succeeded in similar ventures before us.
For The Creative Ambush, I simply chose to be myself, to create a manual the way I wanted, using the language I normally use during the day, sharp and bold, because I believe that's how creativity should be approached.
And it worked! People sensed its sincerity and value.
Do what you love, be who you are, in the way you are, without masks, without imitating others, without holding back, and you'll see that others will feel your energy. You can't go wrong.
With ❤️,
Matteo
