Creative Bulletin n.239

Creative Bulletin n.239

Here’s the summary of my return to the city: me, dreamily gazing at the sky, hoping to find an office on a hill (maybe they’ll really give it to me 😂).

Sefirot Education. We’re gearing up for our entry into schools. We’re putting the finishing touches on our educational offering, and Lino can’t wait to get started.

The quest for authenticity. We’re working on several projects—for branding, language learning, and three others aimed at running corporate workshops. Since these aren’t exactly my area of expertise, I’ve become the guinea pig.

I’m applying them to myself and to Sefirot, trying to see if they actually work and, if not, what needs to change. If they don’t work for me, how can I expect them to work for anyone else?

The unglamorous side of creativity. Since I got back to Turin, I’ve been trying to be methodical and disciplined: in the mornings I write, then I work on various projects, and finally, I try to get everything in order on the administrative and organizational front, like tidying up a house that needs to be clean and fully functional.

Yes, I also have to deal with things I don’t enjoy, like tax forms, invoices, product margins, and chasing after new ads because the old ones aren’t working anymore.

It sometimes makes me feel miserable. I sit in front of my computer and think, “Ah, yes, what a great creative genius you are, well done” 😂.

🌈 Creative takeaway: Hold tight to our aspiration.

I’m investing a lot to spread The Creative Ambush. The margins aren’t exactly stellar, because getting something out there these days costs money, and as you can imagine, that worries me.
But dozens of people have been reaching out to tell me that after reading The Ambush, they’ve started writing and painting again, that they’ve begun believing in their projects and dreams once more.
And you know what? That makes it all worth it.
What I want to spread is this: it is possible to be creative, to live off your creativity, to express yourself, and to do what you love. It’s not a myth, it can really happen.
I also want to spread the reality: that sometimes, in order to do this, you have to feel miserable, uncreative, and that what keeps us going is the longing, the aspiration we carry in our hearts. Let’s hold onto it.
I promise you, it’s worth it.

With ❤️,
Matteo
