Creative Bulletin n.246

Creative Bulletin n.246

Progress on Brando, our new branding product, is moving along well. The cards are nearly complete, and soon we’ll begin the final phase of testing! 🎉

Next week, I hope to share the first images of holaciao, our language learning tool. I’m working with an incredibly talented designer, and the drafts are looking very promising! ❤️

Meanwhile, I’m diving into a stack of books on “naming.” Naming is the art of finding the right names for products, services, and companies—often one of the most challenging creative tasks. Like any journey into a new world, I’m uncovering countless questions and complexities for which, little by little, I’m realizing there’s no single answer. My goal is to distill everything into an effective tool!

The Creative Ambush is headed to Portugal. It's official! A publisher in Lisbon has acquired the Portuguese translation rights, and soon we’ll have Emboscada criativa! 🎉 (How cool is that?)

Shuffling the deck. In our last call with Lino, our marketing manager, we decided to try a bold and completely unexpected strategy for a small, independent publishing house. We’ve been cautious over the past year, making sure our profit margins stayed above certain thresholds. It’s been a challenging time—believe me—but we’ve managed to survive. However… playing it safe is a bit boring, isn’t it? 😂

Is this really the reality I want? I asked myself. No, I want a publishing house that’s much bolder, much more daring. So, we’ve shifted our focus: reducing profit margins to expand our reach. If all goes well, we’ll make some noise—and that’s a lot more exciting.

🌈 Creative Takeaway: The truth is, no one cares about our creativity

The world isn’t waiting for our next novel or new project. In fact, the world often fears creativity, because it always brings change.
We are the ones who must value our creativity. We need to embrace the change we can bring into the world and do it with all our heart and purpose.
Let’s write the book we want to read.
Let’s start the company we would want to work for.
Let’s bring to life the dream we dreamed as kids.
And let’s do it as if nothing else matters more. 🌹

With ❤️,
Matteo
