Creative Bulletin n.261

For a week, every time I turned on the hot water in the kitchen, the boiler would shut down immediately. You can imagine my worry—I was already picturing cold showers, radiators off, and the dreaded verdict from the technician: "We need to replace everything!"
In the end, it was just a clogged faucet filter that was messing up the system. 😂
The tendency to worry. Over the past few months, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what I’ve lost and what I could have lost. I’ve reflected on the things in my life that I didn’t like and consciously let go of, on the people who are no longer here, on missed opportunities.
I’ve overthought, yes. I worried about the things that weren’t going well, the things that could have gone better, and the ones I feared might get even worse 😅 I fixated on the idea of the boiler failing and, every time I stepped into the shower, I braced myself: "This is it. This time it’s all going to break down, and I’ll freeze."
A shift in perspective. When I started thanking the boiler for holding up and the water for staying warm, I realized I was being an idiot. If the shower was fine, the problem had to be in the kitchen.
I started appreciating what—and who—I have in my life again, and I realized I have so much.
🌈 Creative takeaway: Let’s focus on what we have
Dwelling on what’s missing (or what’s gone) doesn’t help. It only wastes time and makes life feel darker. Who knows—maybe it’s even an excuse, a distraction.
Let’s try doing the opposite. Let’s find joy in what’s here, in what we can do, in the people we can laugh and joke with. Let’s try to be bright.
In short, let’s change the filter. 😂
With love,
Matteo
