Creative Bulletin n.338

At my Portuguese retreat, I’m focusing on finishing one of the projects I’ve been working on since April: it’s the evolution of AdMachine, and it’s called AdLighter 😊 Over the next few weeks, I’ll be inviting anyone interested to a presentation of the platform!
I’ve also finished my new novel: it’s a rather unusual book, and I’d love to have a few people read it. If you’d like to be a “beta reader,” just reply to this email 🙏
Cursing. There are always things that go wrong and make you lose your patience. A few days ago, I found out that our shipping company had poorly packed 500 of our books, damaging and losing half of them.
Of course, the shipping company blames the courier, and the courier blames the shipping company. Beyond the anger, there’s the sadness of seeing your own work ruined, and that’s never fun. It makes you want to throw everything out the window.
🌈 Creative takeaway: staying creative
Over the years, I’ve learned that this is simply how it goes. No matter how hard you try, there’s always some setback: a ruined production run, lost shipments, launches that go badly, unexpected problems you simply can’t prevent.
Over time, I’ve also learned that there’s no point in letting it ruin my entire day. So today I’ll take a moment to feel sad about my damaged books, then I’ll call the people responsible and be very tough with them—but not too tough, because I still need to find a solution.
And finally, I’ll get back to doing what I love, which is what all of this is about in the end ❤️
With love,
Matteo
