Creative Bulletin n.264

Yesterday, I wanted to write a story, but I didn’t have a clear idea. Instead of giving up, I sat down at my computer and started typing out a random scene—a guy slipping through the doorway of an old building in the city center. Then a bit of dialogue… I had no idea where I was going with it, but I stuck with it for about an hour.

This morning, while meditating, I heard that guy’s voice in my head, and suddenly, the story started taking shape. Images came to me, and I managed to sketch out the first threads of a plot.

If we ask for it, intuition comes. Think about it: when we need to come up with ideas for work, we sit down, focus, and eventually, something emerges. Maybe at first, it’s not groundbreaking, but something always shows up. I’ve never seen a colleague walk up to the boss and say, “Nope, sorry, I’ve got writer’s block.” Can you imagine? 😂

If this works for our jobs (which we don’t always love that much), why should it be any different for the things we’re truly passionate about? Let’s sit down, make space, and ask for something to come.

🌈 Creative Takeaway: Celebrate the Wonder

Last night, I went to a friend’s concert. After a couple of covers, she sang a song she had written herself, and I was blown away. I thought, “Wow, where did that come from?”

In an instant, I saw the whole process: my friend getting that first spark of inspiration, taking the time to listen to it, shaping it, arranging it—so that last night, we could all be moved as she performed.

Think about how the world has changed because a writer got the idea for Harry Potter, because your favorite artists received the spark for a song that helped you through tough times, because an entrepreneur had the vision for an innovative app. Think about how many incredible things can come into existence, making the world a warmer, brighter place.

Isn’t that insanely amazing? 😊
