Creative Bulletin n.276

Last night I got home around midnight and the power was out in the entire building. I did the bare minimum—washed a couple of dishes, brushed my teeth—by candlelight, then went straight to bed. Luckily, I remembered that portable reading lamp, so I was able to read a bit before falling asleep.
Not everything comes to harm us. I could’ve gotten upset, thought things like “Seriously? This too? Why does everything happen to me?”—but I’ll tell you: I actually enjoyed it 😂 If the power had been on, I probably would’ve stayed up doing other things. Instead, I got some rest, and the soft light was a perfect companion to ease me into sleep.
When I heard an electronic beep from the kitchen (the power coming back on), I didn’t even switch on the bedside lamp. I stayed with the gentler glow.
🌈 Creative takeaway: let’s accept the gifts of reality
Reality is constantly offering us little gifts. Yesterday, I was wiped out after days of work, and it gave me a moment of calm.
When something happens, let’s ask ourselves: what’s the hidden gift? Why didn’t we get that job? Maybe because it wasn’t right for us. Why didn’t that investment go through? Maybe to show us there’s a more intriguing way, one that was right under our nose! Why did we miss that train? Maybe to give us a new idea while we were stuck waiting on the platform.
With ❤️,
Matteo
