Creative Bulletin n.344
Yesterday morning we opened up AdLighter, the tool we originally built for ourselves. If you’re curious to see a bit of what goes on behind the scenes, you can check out the whole process of how we used it to create the ads for How to Lead a Creative Life.
What I’m working on. Mostly myself haha. The last few years have been hard, and somewhere along the way I started doubting myself. My choices, my abilities, all of it. Basically, my voice has become a little shakier, a little less sure of itself.
For example, yesterday a friend told me that maybe I should offer a free trial for AdLighter, or lower the price a bit more. And for a moment, I hesitated. I actually considered doing it, changing things to fit his view of what I should do.
Then I remembered that AdLighter does in a few hours what used to take me two days, that it’s helping keep the company going, and that I’m looking for experienced users who can see the value in it.
The example I want to set. I don’t think I’m helping anyone by trying to convince people who aren’t sure about using a tool that could help them. They can stay unsure. Just like there’s no point trying to convince someone who doesn’t really want to commit to their novel to use Fabula, or someone who’s been feeling stuck for years to read The Creative Ambush.
I use these things myself, and I get great results from them. At some point, people have to figure things out for themselves 😅
🌈 Creative takeaway: finding strength in your own voice again
It scares me, because I think: “If I don’t lower the price, maybe no one will buy it. If I don’t adapt, maybe I’ll have to shut everything down. If I actually say what I think, maybe everyone will leave.”
But what’s the alternative? Losing my strength and my authenticity.
And if that happens, how can I possibly express myself? ❤️
